I arrived at this rather famous lake with low expectations. The temperature was unusually high for this time of the year so I was quite surprised to find the lake completely frozen over. It gave me the opportunity for a rather uncommon composition of this spot. Hope you enjoy it.

Upper Bavaria - April 2021
Sometimes you just have to turn around - my aim that day was to shot the sunrise at a Mountain Lake, but the sky was rather dull and not inspiring at all. So I was already on my way home when I saw the setting moon right behind me. The mountain was catching the very first sunlight. I quickly unpacked all my gear and pressed the shutter before the moon disappeared behind the rock.
Walchensee - March 2021
A cold and cloudy winter day. I love the subtle glow in the sky along with the almost turquoise color of the lake. The snow is literally the icing on the cake.
Isar valley - February 2021
No matter how often I go to this beautiful area, I always enjoy the solitude and tranquility that I find here. This morning was quite cold (-15 degree Celsius) so I appreciated the morning sun even more.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen area - January 2021
What glorious morning it was - I was a little bit late and had to rush as I had to clear my way through waist-deep snow first before I arrived at this spot. But then I was blessed with the most beautiful light show I’ve seen in a long time! The pre-sunrise colors were so intense, that the snow was turning red and gave the whole scenery a magical touch. I grabbed the shot, sat down in the snow, enjoyed this very special moment and just felt very happy.
